RUNDU – The Namibian police at Rundu are investigating a case of assault with the intention to do grievous bodily harm after a woman was assaulted at a shebeen in Kehemu location at Rundu on Friday.

The incident was reported to have happened between 11h00 and 12h00. It is alleged the suspect grabbed, assaulted and bit the 30-year-old complainant on her right breast. She sustained an open wound. 

“The suspect is known but not yet arrested,’’ said the police in the weekly crime report.

The police at Rundu is also investigating a case of rape of a 16-year-old girl by a 53-year-old man, which took place on Thursday, 23 March 2023 at about 21h00.

“The 16-year-old was raped by a 53-year-old Namibian male at Ndama location, Rundu, in the Kavango East region. it’s alleged that the suspect unlawfully and intentionally had sexual intercourse with a minor without her consent. The suspect is yet to be arrested but is known,’’ said the police.
