Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) Netball Club over the weekend went top of the MTC Namibia Netball Premier League (NNPL) log table, a move team administrator Absalom Mushaandja described as an important step towards winning the league title.

Ahead of their weekend encounter, the NCS were guaranteed the top stop if they secured a win on Saturday, and a well-composed performance against Mighty Gunners on Saturday saw them emerge 46-43 winners and yesterday’s 36-23 victory against Grootfontein eventually propelled them atop of the table with 17 points.

Speaking to New Era Sport after the match, Mushaandja said all their games were not easy but team work and determination carried them through to the top of the log.

 “All our games were tough – but fortunately, we managed to win our encounter against Mighty Gunners, which was the priority going into the weekend. We are now focussing on winning our last two games so that we can clinch the league,” he added.
