President of the Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) Hilary Imbuwa has been appointed to serve on the marketing commission for the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB), which is the continent’s volleyball governing body.

Touching on the subject, Imbuwa shared with New Era Sport that his appointment to serve on the continental body is a big moment for Namibian volleyball, as it will be a great opportunity to learn more and exchange notes with advanced sister countries.

“I feel honoured to be appointed to serve on this body and also for us as a country, it is a great recognition. It equally goes on to show how far we have come as a country in terms of volleyball development. In my capacity there, I will serve the continent with great pride and dedication, but more importantly, I will plough the experience back into our local programmes. This will assist us in attracting more people at our games,” said an excited Imbuwa.

In the appointment letter, CAVB president Bouchra Haju expressed great confidence in Imbuwa, saying he strongly believes that the Namibian will serve the continental body with distinction and professionalism.

“I am more than convinced that you will serve the CAVB with dedication and passion in a professional manner and that together, we would ensure the advancement and development of our cherished sport,” said Haju.
