Man caught allegedly attempting to rape minor

The police are investigating four cases of rape in which four adults, including a male victim and a minor, were allegedly sexually violated.

According to the latest crime report for the past weekend, at Corridor 13 in the Omaheke region, a 39-year-old man was caught red-handed and half-naked while allegedly attempting to rape an 11-year-old minor.

According to the police, the suspect, who is an uncle to the victim, allegedly promised her N$10.

Moments later, the suspect and victim allegedly disappeared from the fireplace, where they had initially gathered with other family members at night.

This prompted the grandmother of the victim to initiate a search of the victim around the homestead.

It is alleged that upon entering the tent, they found the suspect and the victim seated on the mattress, whereby the suspect was semi-naked only with a shirt on top, and the victim was seated with her underwear, held in her hand.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Leonardville periodic court today.

At Mariental, on Friday, at about 22h00 in Aimablaagte, the police were informed that a 40-year-old female victim, who went to a club to enjoy herself with friends, was allegedly raped by an unknown suspect.

Since the suspect is unknown, the police could not make any arrests, and the investigation into the matter will continue.

At Kamanjab, on Saturday at 01h30, it is alleged that a 20-year-old suspect raped a 36 years old male.

The police further alleged the suspect threatened the victim with a knife if he dared to move.

The victim did not move, according to the police, leading to the alleged rape.

Police investigations continue.

In Windhoek’s Katutura, it is alleged a suspect recently raped a 30-year-old woman.

The suspect is not yet arrested, and police investigations continue.
