WINDHOEK – Namibia’s veteran welterweight boxer Tyson Uushona failed to live up to earlier hypes and expectations when he was outpointed by homeboy Rico Mueller at the Erich Wünsch Hall in Brandenburg, Germany on Saturday.

Uushona, who held the WBF world welterweight title heading into Saturday’s fight, fought and lost to Mueller in their 8-rounder nontitle fight as the Namibian’s record tumbled to six defeats, 36 wins and one draw from a record of 43 fights.

Speaking to NBC Sport late yesterday, Uushona and his trainer Tobias Nashilongo claimed that the boxer was robbed and the organisation of the whole event was equally off mark.
Nashilongo informed NBC Sport Desk that they are not satisfied with the treatment they received from the hosts either.

“It’s the first time in boxing history to see only one judge at such an event, but apparently that’s how it works in Germany,” claimed Nashilongo, adding that they have requested for a rematch, but have not been given a go ahead. –Additional info: NBC Sport Desk
