Black Africa were on Saturday eliminated from the MTC Namibia Football Association (NFA) Aweh Cup after going down 4-0 against Young Brazilians at the Mariental Stadium.

Round 16 of the MTC NFA Aweh Cup kicked off at three different venues, namely: the Oscar Norich Stadium in Tsumeb, Jan Wilken Stadium in Walvis Bay and Mariental Stadium.

At Oscar Norich in Tsumeb, Khuse FC got the better of Omaheke-based Nossob FC with a 4-2 score line, while the Mighty Gunners booked themselves a spot in the last eight with a 6-2 win over New Poison.

Tigers this time around made no mistake, as they beat Zambezi-based outfit Supe 11 3-0, 2017 NFA Cup winner Young African advanced to the next round of the competition with a 5-4 win in penalties shootout over Ohangwena NamPol following a goalless draw.

At Mariental, Black Africa joined the likes Orlando Pirates, who were eliminated from the competition during the round of 32.

Windhoek-based BA were outclassed by Young Brazilians, who let four goals pass through them without a reply. 

The Karasburg-based Young Brazilians advanced to the next round of the competition after running amok over their superior opponents.

In Walvis Bay, Blue Waters were pushed all the way by Western Spurs, who they just managed to beat 6-5 on penalties at the Jan Wilken Stadium after a goalless draw. 

The MTC NFA Cup Aweh action continue in the capital, Windhoek, on Sunday, with two matches scheduled at the Unam Main Campus Stadium.

DTS Hopsol face Citizens from 14h00 before Tura Magic takes on Civics at 16h00. 

The quarterfinals of the Football Association cup will be played during the weekend of 25 and 26 September 2021, with the draw conducted right after the final match of the Round of 16 between Tura Magic and Civics.

Teams currently through to the quarterfinals are Mighty Gunners, Young Brazilians, Khuse FC, Tigers, Young African and Blue Waters.
