Hundreds of Namibians from all walks of life came to celebrate the Windhoek Karneval (WIKA) 2024 under the theme ‘Applause, Applause, Full Steam Ahead’. 

After the colourful WIKA Karneval procession of 54 floats from the Windhoek Show Grounds through the central business district on Saturday, it was all enjoyment at the well-known NBL WIKA Bierfest proudly sponsored by Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL). 

The kegs of cold beer were ready, and hot, scrumptious food and lively performances kept the WIKA revellers entertained. The lively atmosphere of the WIKA Bierfest characterised the spirit of true togetherness through a joyful bierfest.

Hansa Draught was once again the host of this remarkable social calendar event. Besides Hansa beer, NBL also offered its consumers a diverse portfolio of choice with beverages like ciders, spirits and for the first time Heineken’s 0.0 non-alcoholic beer.

In line with its agenda to promote responsible and moderate consumption, NBL likewise introduced an AquaSplash water rehydration station as well. It was a buzz of activity under the iconic yellow tent, while a band from Germany together with local musicians brought the Namibian culture and spirit alive. 

This year’s WIKA Karneval marks the 70th jubilee anniversary.
