The Okamatapati Combined School won the Namibia Football Association’s Okakarara third division football league, which ended over the weekend.

Okamatapati produced a stellar performance, collecting 15 points from five league matches played.

They were followed in second by Ekuija Monjama with 12 points, while Classic Eleven’s nine points earned them third place in the log.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi Boys claimed fourth place with four points, followed by the Scorpions, who failed to win a single match in the league, in fifth place with two points.

Lala United lay on the bottom of the log with one point out of five league matches played.

Okamatapati’s head coach, Jaurovandu Rukuma, said commitment from the players was a key to success in the stream.

“We prioritised training sessions, and our players showed high-level commitment. They even played friendly games to up their performances and keep momentum,” said Rukuma. He added that the war is not over, as they will continue preparing for the playoffs slated for August, where the winning team will be selected to represent Okakarara constituency in the third division.

“We will keep the boys together; training is mandatory, as our aim is to play in the third division,” continued Rukuma.

The winners from the four streams will compete against each other in August, with the overall victor expected to represent Okakarara constituency at regional playoffs against Okahandja, Otjiwarongo, Otavi and Grootfontein.

Meanwhile, Okakarara, Okondjatu and Coblenz streams will continue with their league matches this weekend at their respective sports grounds.
