Stars mum on Koffie remuneration

African Stars chairman Salomo Hei said the club has no comment at this stage regarding Fifa’s instruction last week to settle outstanding remuneration of N$90 000 plus 5% interest to their former coach, Prince George Koffie.

The club must also pay an extra N$30 000 plus 5% interest for breach of contract without just cause. Failure to do so within 45 days will result in the club being prohibited from signing any players, domestically or internationally, until the debt is cleared.

In addition, the duration of the ban shall be up to three entire and consecutive registration periods. If full payment, including interest, is still not made by the end of the three entire and consecutive periods, the Fifa Disciplinary Committee will step in.

Stars appointed Ghanaian-born Koffie in July 2023 and fired him in November following the defeat to Eeshoke Chula Chula in the Hage Geingob Cup.

These forced Koffie to take the unfair dismissal to the football’s governing
body.

He previously coached Great Olympics FC and Eleven Wonders, both premier league clubs in Ghana.
